Positive deviancy may well result in an interesting change in perspective, and this can be a good outcome. Many are anathema to change in any form and institutions tend to savor routine control of policy and process. Is this helpful for a constantly evolving society? Is this helpful in preparing people for the more rapid changes in our daily lives? Whether it is technology, global events (natural and planned) or the ever shifting needs of the workforce, innovation and new thinking are difficult to implement. And yet, we must, in order to advance, or even just maintain, societal needs for survival. How can we best educate our social structures? How can innovation become more desirable and more vastly possible? I believe our social fabrics and more intrinsic global connections are a key component for succeeding in both educating and re-educating social hierarchies. Thanks for the key points summary of the conference ... Shifting perspectives becomes important for your ongoing discussions for greater inclusion.

How does this debate, set of discussions and set of dilemma's fit with the Moonshots in six categories- mend the soul, unleash capability, foster renewal, expand minds, distribute power and seek balance from the innovation Mix.?Paul Hobcrafthttp://www.paul4innovating.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11679714.post-90390803140064176652011-10-11T05:09:30.375-04:002011-10-11T05:09:30.375-04:00I think this is very thoughtful article. My impressions of the current dilemma's are good, if you have a 20th century mindset. we need to draw a line under these as the issues 'entering' the 21st century and what we have learnt in the last ten or so years is the real shifts taking place. We are needing to seek a fresh perspective, a future orientation one, set in this centure of open collaborations, the constant quest for learning, absorbing and dispersing in a DISPERSED networked environment, somewhere you can't control as you see from the current dilemma's but somewhere where agility anf flexibility needs to be the norm. I think this needs 'pushing' harder, not for the sake of it but because we have moved on.Paul Hobcrafthttp://www.paul4innovating.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11679714.post-49543694118232994792011-10-10T16:12:35.307-04:002011-10-10T16:12:35.307-04:00Sounds like an interesting day and wish I could ha...Sounds like an interesting day and wish I could have heard the nuanced detail- thanks for this. Based on what you've provided here I would agree with your comments around actors (perhaps agents?) depending on the model you see playing-outing in the space; but also was reminded of the concept of positive deviance...maybe something there to circle back to? When people deviate (positively) from the expected or the norm- they usually have strong reasons and know absolutely why and for whom.... (even if we might not like the answer).RoseQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15494873994731976669noreply@blogger.com
